A few weeks ago I won a polish naming contest (you'll see the post on that polish later) for Shirley Ann Nail Lacquer and she was kind enough to send a couple other polishes for me to review. I'm going to show you those two today!
Poison Ivy is described as "a green creme with a slight shimmer and various sizes of green glitter". Not the best description of Poison Ivy. It's sheer, it's not a creme. It's definitely more of a frost or pearlescent. But that's ok. I was shocked how much I actually loved this polish. I don't normally enjoy frosts. Poison Ivy was done beautifully!! The lime green frost finish mixed with the metallic green glitters, it reminds me of spearmint. This is three perfect coats to get full opacity. No issues with application or removal. $6
Mile Long Margarita is described as a top coat "packed with neon green and neon yellow medium hex glitters". This is three coats of Mile Long Margarita over two coats of Finger Paints First Edition. I really liked this pairing, and I loved Mile Long Margarita, my only problem was that I could only get out 3-5 pieces of glitter each time I pulled my brush out. That was even with some swirls of the brush. With all the coat of polish, it ended up being pretty thick. Next time, I'd figure out how to separate the glitter from the base. It's such a simple yet fun glitter top coat! You could even use it to layer with another top coat!! $4
My first impressions of Shirley Ann Nail Lacquer are good. I would definitely keep buying from her. Great price range, all are 5 Free and they apply beautifully. Even with the one minor issue with the glitter top coat, I am extremely happy with these polishes. I already have a list of them that I am itching to buy!! What are your thoughts? Have you purchased from Shirley Ann Nail Lacquer before?
These swatches were topped with Magpie Shine top coat ($7) and I used Sweet Nectar cuticle oil ($6) to hydrate my cuticles. Both from A Girl Obsessed.
